It is generally regarded as beneficial to add a XML sitemap to your Google Search Console (Formerly Webmaster Tools)

2. You have more granular control with what you want indexing (although you should be addressing this in your robots.txt as well)

The process is relatively simple:

CRITICAL – First ensure you have verified your site with Google Search Console and login

1. Login to wordpress backend and click ‘SEO’
2. Click ‘General’ menu and click ‘Feauture tab’
3. See ‘XML sitemaps’ section then click ‘See the XML sitemap’
4. Go to Google Webmaster Tools please select your website
5. Go to Menu Crawl and click Sitemap On the left-hand side
6. Copy the relevant URL and move to Google Search Console
7. Press the red sitemap button and paste your URL in
8. Continue in this form until all are done
9. Refresh
10. result you are being indexed
